SGL Malt Extract Agar is a ready-to-use culture medium supplied in 55mm polypropylene plates for the cultivation and enumeration of yeasts and moulds. Commonly used in food and beverage production, brewing, environmental monitoring and quality control laboratories, the nutrient-rich formulation supports the recovery of fungal organisms that may contribute to product spoilage, contamination or reduced shelf life. The smaller 55mm plate format makes these plates particularly suitable for environmental monitoring and routine screening applications where compact incubation formats are preferred. Supplied pre-poured and ready for immediate use, they eliminate the time and effort associated with media preparation whilst helping maintain consistent microbiological testing procedures.
